A Very Crissi Christmas, Part I
Crissi Cochrane
Last night was my first holiday stream (and my first stream since October)! As always, I had a really fun time getting to play for people near and far, and I can’t wait to do it again two more times this month (Dec 18 and 26!).
I’m trying something new going forward - I’ve been trying to find a balance between reaching a broader audience on Facebook while also not giving everything away for free, and so, I’ve decided to use Facebook’s new trimming feature to highlight just a few songs from each livestream, and then uploading the full broadcast for Patreon members. So my streams will always be free and public when they’re live (and I get to keep all your nice comments/shares/stats!), but if you’d like to watch full shows on-demand afterwards, you can do so at the “Sweet & Fine” tier ($8USD/about $10CAD) or higher on Patreon.
So, three of the ten songs I played - Marshmallow World, What Are You Doing New Years Eve, and Hang Up Your Stocking - are still up on Facebook, plus all the chatting and joking in between (including our discovery that our heroes, podcasting comedy stars Jimmy Dore and Stef Zamorano, were tuned in and enjoying the show with their pup Brownie!!). I was significantly more nervous after realizing that they were watching, since they’re consummate professional entertainers, and after the show I felt like I was going to break all the glass in the house with my squealing when I read Stef’s messages out loud.
It’s super late for this mama, and my eyelashes are about to pop off my face, but before I go to bed I just want to say thanks to all who tuned in to my stream tonight!! I had a lovely time and can’t wait to do it again on Dec 18 and 26 ❤️ https://t.co/MOioiVel23 pic.twitter.com/WLo2Z3HgGI

I’ll be streaming again, via Zoom this time, on Friday, December 18 as part of a local gifting campaign raising funds for Ronald MacDonald House Charities. Tickets are available on Eventbrite at $20/household. It’s going to be a fun change to be doing a stream where we don’t need to remind viewers to like/share/pay, and can just focus on puttin’ on a show!
