Heirloom is officially going vinyl!

We did it! I feel so grateful, honoured, and - honestly - relieved that my vinyl pre-order reached 100 units on Monday night! It actually went over the top, currently sitting pretty at 112/100 units pre-ordered. Which means our crowd-funding campaign is a success, and our vinyls will be pressed!

You can still order a copy, but time is running out. You have until Saturday, March 7 at 7:00PM EST to place your order. Over the next week, you’ll see your payment finally going through, and I’ll be uploading all the files for manufacturing. Then they begin cutting the lacquer master and sending me my test pressing. So exciting! It’ll take about 8-10 weeks for us to get our finished copies. It sounds like a long time, but it’ll be here before you know it!

If you prefer CDs over vinyl, I’m happy to announce that locally, the album is available at Dr. Disc (471 Ouellette Ave), Whiskeyjack Boutique on Maiden Lane, and also at Sunrise Records at Devonshire Mall.

I’ve been setting up shop in my kitchen to pack up CD orders every day this week. Thank you to everyone who’s ordered the new music! I LOVE sending mail and making a special connection with you when you receive it, so every CD is being signed (especially easy to do since they come in re-sealable poly bags, so you don’t have to lose your protective packaging in order to get an autograph), and I’m including thank-you notes and whatever goodies I have lying around. Right now, it’s a bunch of really awesome stickers, and the occasional “Little Sway” digital download postcard.

The kitchen feels like an extension of my office now - not only am I preparing parcels here, it’s also where I do my hair & makeup for all of my shows and shoots. It comes with fresh food and water, good lighting, hot coffee, and lots of (decorative but functional) mirrors. It’s pretty perfect!

SO, one more time: if you want to order my album on vinyl, you have until Saturday, March 7 at 7:00PM EST to place your order. After that, c’est fini! I have ordered a teeny, tiny stock of 5 copies that I will make available in my shop, but they are going to be outlandishly expensive so I recommend getting your order in now, while you can. I can’t imagine doing a second crowd-funding campaign for the same album and it’s like $2000+ to manufacture a run of vinyl on my own, so this is really the last chance to get a copy for the foreseeable future!

Otherwise, if you’d prefer to get a special Heirloom CD care package from me personally, you can do so in my shop. I ship to everywhere in the world! It works out to $18.50 Canadian.

It’s been a really busy two weeks around the album’s release, but yesterday was the first day in a while where we didn’t do too much, and it felt SO good. I went to the mall to return a dress I didn’t wear at the album release show, I bought a pair of comfy jeans, I napped and read my book, and Mike and I watched some of RuPaul’s Drag Race after Adeila went to bed. Today, I’m back at it: prepping things for filing my taxes, doing some book-keeping, uploading music for a new licensing deal, and reviewing a publishing contract. PHEW! I’m also corralling some of the recent reviews, interviews, and articles about Heirloom to share in the next blog post.

Thanks for reading!
