The Arms Bumanlag Show + Perk Photos!
Crissi Cochrane
On Friday night, Mike and I were the special guests on episode 8 of The Arms Bumanlag Project, and I smiled so much during that my face hurt afterward! Arms is a beloved leader and business professional in Windsor, he is an excellent host and spokesperson and philanthropist, and his new podcast is simply wonderful.
I sang harmonies on Mike’s new song “Whenever Love’s Around”, and he sang back-ups on my performance of “Why”. We talked about the state of the music industry, our latest projects, Soul City Music Co-op, and parenting in a pandemic. I’ve only really gotten to speak with Arms in passing, as we often cross paths at functions where we’re both working, so it was a treat to get to just relax and chat with him awhile.
You can catch the video replay on Facebook or Twitter, or you can listen to the audio-only podcast on Spotify.
In other news, my crowd-funding campaign is continuing to kick butt, and is currently less than $300 away from our second goal of $5000! I’m SO excited that this project is going so well - it’s honestly made my summer way less stressful. I was really counting on getting a grant for this project, but haven’t had any luck so far, as it’s been an incredibly competitive time for arts funding during the pandemic, and there strangely aren’t many grants that will fund video projects. So it’s been wonderful to know that I’m not totally paying out of pocket for this project, and just feeling the love and support of so many folks during this isolating time is incredibly heartwarming and wonderful, and I promise I am going to continue paying forward my good karma as much as I can!
And, finally, we have some photos available, showing what our perks will look like! How beautiful are these prints? Of course, these are only mock-ups, but they really show how gorgeous these prints will look around a living space.
And of course, the cherry on top is the handkerchief that we’ll be creating with the “Constellation Hands” design from the video’s title card. These are printed on 100% cotton, with edges hand-rolled and sewn by yours truly. I’m a big fan of handkerchiefs in general - we use them in our house ALL of the time and toss them in the wash with our laundry, and they are so sturdy and beautiful. This handkerchief is so lovely, it would make a pretty pocket-square for the fellas, a cute bandana for a tiny animal, or a nice thing to spritz with your favourite essential oil and keep in your purse or wardrobe.
