REPLAY: Crissi Cochrane on Windsor-Essex Pride Fest Facebook Live, June 1 2020
Crissi Cochrane
Tonight, I had the pleasure of live-streaming at a new time and place - earlier in the evening, on a Monday, on the Windsor-Essex Pride Fest Facebook page. Thank you so much to David Lenz for inviting me to do this! I love that Facebook pages are the new music venues right now!
In the last song of the set, my little cat Jenny decided to jump up into my lap while I was in the middle of playing Carole King’s “It’s Too Late”. There’s a first time for everything! It’s not too often that you get to rub a cat’s face with your hand while you’re playing guitar.

This was the first time I’ve streamed without Mike behind-the-scenes, producing. The earlier time-slot meant that our daughter Adeila was still awake, so Mike had to be with her, keeping her quiet (they were going to play outside, but it looked like it would rain any minute). Fortunately, I was able to set up our trigger pad at my feet so I could play the applause sample after each song (phew! I feel so naked without that sound at the end of a song), but I missed having Mike to chat with throughout! It was a good practice in keeping up the one-sided-banter that is typical of in-person live shows. I flubbed a couple notes vocally when Jenny was on my lap - in twelve years of living with this cat, she has NEVER jumped on my lap while playing guitar - and I couldn’t help but giggle. Especially because she jumped up as I was singing the words “oh no.” All things considered, I think it was pretty great and I had a lot of fun despite being all by my lonesome!
Tonight's live-stream was purr-fect 🤣 Wait for it! pic.twitter.com/jgnaUjXJ6h

I’ll be back in action with a live-stream on the Soul City Music Co-op Facebook page on June 20. That’s just a couple days before the “Only You & Me” remix comes out (June 26)! I’m so excited for all the great new things we’ll be sharing this summer. Stay tuned!
