Best of 2020

Last night, the Soul City Music Co-op premiered our Best Of 2020 Countdown Video on YouTube!

Our artists had the difficult task of selecting their favourite songs released by their peers in 2020, and then we turned them into a Top 10 Countdown video, as well as a compilation album, available in the Soul City Music Co-op digital downloads shop.

This video was a ton of fun to make, the beginning of a great new annual tradition, and a really great way to commemorate our first year as a co-op!

The countdown video features the co-op artists themselves (including Ayola, the Bishop Boys, Madeline Doornaert, Dane Roberts, and of course, myself and Mike), explaining the meanings behind our songs, and announcing the next artist in the line-up.

I’m honoured to share that I ranked at number 8 with “Brother She’s Gone”, and number 3 with “Hungry Love.” And I’m especially pleased that we were able to get some really great video shout-outs/cameos recorded by Jeff Burrows and Dan MacDonald, congratulating Dane Roberts, the writer of “Dancing In The Living Room”, our number 1 song of 2020!

You can find the “Best of 2020” Compilation Album in the Soul City Music Co-op store, along with “2020 The Complete Collection”, featuring all the music that our artists released last year.
